A beautiful day Amazing views of San Francisco and the South Bay, love and celebration in the air.  It’s all happening at the Oakland Zoo! Melissa and Garret shared tender vows exchanged leis with each other and their families and added many unique touches for their guests to enjoy.  I loved telling their love story including the marriage proposal which took place during the third inning of the Oakland A’s game.  They are blessed to have found each other and continue celebrating with their blended family.  Oakland zoo is a beautiful place to get marries with Amazing mother nature views! Baby Blessings have existed for centuries and have most often been known as Christenings. In times past, new babies were welcomed into their community by elders and religious figures. Parents introduced newborns to family traditions and religious practices. While formal christenings are still held in church communities , many parents choose to have a more familial gathering in their home, park or community center and are referred to as Baby Blessings or Baby Welcomings. As the minister, I look for ways to involve family members, friends, godparents or “ guide parents ” who will be an influence in the child’s life. In today’s modern times , it is becoming more and more ordinary for a couple to choose a non-religious choice for making public the declaration of love. Church Weddings   are still a fashionable choice and are firmly included in our society. A celebrant performs a civil ceremony for those of us who do not have a conscientious religious relationship or for any other individual reason you do not wish to be married by a minister of religion. This is not to say that a civil ceremony cannot contain religious content nor, does it mean a celebrant cannot marry a couple on holy grounds.
